Since going to Cake International and spending a FORTUNE on equipment, tools, books etc. I have been practising like crazy and I even bought an airbrushing kit! Not all that successful for my first outing, but once I get a project that will lend itself to using it then I am sure it will be fine... It just goes to show, it doesn't matter at what stage or ability you are, there is always something new to learn!
I also held a 'Family Bake' workshop at the weekend which was my first baking workshop ever. Now, I am used to training managers as my 'day job' is that of a managment trainer, so you would have thought that it would be a breeze but delivering training on making cookie pops is something quite different! The children all rose to the challenge (and some of the parents too) to produce some really lovely looking cookie pops. (see images below)
The cupcakes you can see above were one of my practise sessions and with my upcoming cupcake workshop on 26th May then if would like to create something similar then you will be able to too! If that sounds like something you would like to do then contact me via this website.
Anyhow.. enough from me. I am getting married in June, but once the wedding has passed then I have some new services to offer... more to follow.
I will leave you with the pictures of the children's bakes for now...
I went to London Excel at the weekend to the Cake International exhibition to see what the currents trends are in cake decoration and also to see the wonderful works of edible art that are on show.
What you can see in the picture here is a fairy tea party, all of which is completely edible and made of cake and sugar work. It won a Gold award which is the highest award any cake can achieve.
I have uploaded a few more photo's so that you can see for yourself what very talented people are out there... maybe one day I will be able to reproduce something similar... sigh!
